No run today.
In the training plan I'm following for the marathon, Fridays are my rest days. It's the only day I get off all week, and let's say this one is much needed after Duke's inexplicable loss to Arizona last night. I just don't think I could have run - not after that loss (pretty good excuse).
Awful, terrible and downright disappointing. I've been a Duke fan as long as I can remember, and I can't recall ever seeing the Blue Devils swoon like that in the second half. 93-77!!! To a PAC-10 team!!! C'mon Coach K - your boys have to do better than that!
Yes, if you've called or texted since about midnight last night, I haven't responded. I apologize.
Give me about twelve hours to wallow in my sadness...I promise I'll snap out of it soon enough. After all, baseball season starts next Thursday!
On another note, I am donating blood today. The Red Cross called me on Wednesday and said they have a blood shortage, so some stranger is going to have some very special blood! Seriously though, if you are healthy and able, please donate. Giving blood is a quick, simple process that can save a life.
Tonight, I'll be resting, relaxing and hydrating. I'll be pounding out five miles at my race pace tomorrow, so if you see a very cold looking runner heading toward Clarendon early tomorrow morning - that's me!
Happy running!
