Yep, I finally did it! I broke down and bought new shoes.
As pictured above, I ended up staying faithful to Nike and went with their Air Pegasus 28 Breathe. If I could marry these shoes, I totally would. I'm in love!!! Nike calls the color Copa, but I call it Tiffany's blue (it is the same color as their little blue bag). One of the main reasons I'm so jazzed about these shoes is as an underpronator/supinator (only approx. 10% of runners are diagnosed as underpronators), I am always limited as far as style and color choice when it comes to buying running shoes. Finally, I have kicks as cool as me (I'm kidding).
When I walked in Pacers yesterday evening after work and saw these blue beauties staring at me from high on the shelf, I just knew I had to have them. Love at first sight. Apparently, the store had just put them on the shelf about two hours before I walked in, so without a doubt, it was meant to be. I was the first person to buy them from Pacers.
I took them for a short jog after I got home, and I immediately wanted to trash my old Nikes. Not only were those shoes religious (read: hole-y), but they no longer had the necessary padding to protect my feet when pounding the pavement. I can't wait to take them out for some long runs this weekend and see the difference. Yes, I feel like a new runner.
Happy running!
